No. He was found guilty and was sent to jail. He tried to get away but was killed in the attempt. Read the book. Also understand that in that time period and that kind of community No matter if a black man is innocent, if he is on trial, they find him guilty. Stupid racists.

Unfortunately not. Tom dies in an escape attempt. Ironically, every single person who tried Tom Robinson knew that he was perfectly innocent. Not only Atticus, but even the Ewells, the jury, and the judge. The whole trial was a farce. It is a terrible tragedy. If you haven't read the ending, I encourage you to do so! ~M
